Oh, goodness. Nothing scared OR excited me more than this part of the interview process. The audition is what comes after you have your interview, and if you make it this far it means you've got a good chance at becoming an infamous Hooters Girl. The audition is where you try on the uniform, and that's when they decide if you're hired or not.
After my interview, I was scheduled to come try on the uniform the next day. GM (we'll use GM for the general manager) told me after my interview to bring white socks and shoes, and with me being a dummy I went out and bought white shoes for the audition for $9 on sale at Walmart. Wow, I felt SO DAMN AWKWARD walking around through the store with a shoebox! At least I come prepared though, right? ;)
But anyway, I went in to the audition with shoebox in hand, ready to try on the infamous Hooters Girl orange shorts and tight white tank top. I was already feeling bloated, and man did that tank top make me feel worse! The girl fitting me was super nice, and I felt extremely comfortable talking to her. We were laughing the whole time she was measuring me for the uniform, and I asked her a bunch of questions about working here and what kind of bras to buy (make sure you have a nude bra that DOES NOT HAVE WIDE SIDES! It will show on the side of your tank top and that's not okay to work in!). I ended up being an xs in the top and shorts, but I think I needed the small because of how tall I am and because I have big boobs. I am 5'8, wear a 34DD, and am about 148 lbs. Oh well, I guess this is more motivation to start running again!
I put on the uniform, the girl helping me showed me all the tricks to avoiding muffin tops and side boob, and all the other good stuff. Then, I had to walk onto the floor and show GM - he took my picture, and told me I was hired! YAY!!!
If anyone wanted to know what to wear to the audition, I'd say wear something comfortable but cute. You're only there to try on the uniform, so you don't really need to go all-out with a complicated outfit. I wore nice skinny jeans that showed off my figure, and a grey Nike 1/4 zip up with purple converse (though I almost regret the shoes).
Let me know if anyone has any questions! I'm a new blogger, but would love to talk and answer anything to the best of my abilities :)
i went to my 1st an 2nd interview this week and it went great! the GM told me i have to go to the audition/ casting call in two weeks, but she didn't give me specific info on it. should i call to ask? if so how long should i wait? or should i expect an email or phone call from the?
